Turmalin Duo

Turmalin Duo is a group based in Gothenburg, Sweden which plays music from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras with folk music arrangements. The repertory stretches across a broad spectrum, from solemn Medieval pilgrim songs and melancholic troubadour songs to robust and catchy French folk songs from the 16th and 17th centuries. The great Baroque masters such as Händel and Bach are also represented. Occasionally, the group also mixes in more recent folk music, such as Greek Rebetika songs and Italian folk songs dating from the 19th century. Welcome to a musical journey through time and space with Turmalin Duo!

The members are:
Marita Johansson (vocals & guitar)
Jonas Liljeström (fiddle, vocals & double flute)

Turmalin Duo is an offshoot of the larger group Salamander. The tracks in the demo come partly from Salamander's debut album from 2014 (except for the tracks "Melancholy Galliard / Jean De Nivelle" and "Le Rossignol".
